Guide to Making Killer Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs have long been a favorite appetizer for those of the mayonaise loving community. With their creamy texture and fun design they've become a staple at backyard BBQs, potlucks, and holiday meals. Sometimes...these babies need a little extra zing to convince those who graze the appetizer table, that they can't be overlooked.

This post will guide you through a straightforward, reliable, and sure-fire method to making sure your deviled eggs disappear at your next function. Citrus Punch will be required.

How to Prepare Killer Deviled Eggs

Ingredients

  • Hard-boiled eggs (6 large)

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

  • 3 tablepoon Citrus Punch

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh chives for garnish

Step 1: Boil the Eggs Perfectly

  • Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with cold water by about an inch.

  • Bring water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

  • Once boiling, turn off the heat and cover the pan. Let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.

  • Drain the hot water and immediately transfer eggs to an ice bath to stop cooking and make peeling easier.

  • After 10 minutes in the ice bath, peel the eggs gently.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling

  • Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise.

  • Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.

  • Mash the yolks with a fork until crumbly.

  • Add mayonnaise, Citrus Punch, and salt & pepper.

  • Mix until smooth and creamy. Adjust heat by using more or less CP.

Step 3: Fill the Egg Whites

  • Use a spoon or finger to fill the egg white halves with the yolk mixture.

  • For a neat presentation, piping bags with a star tip create a decorative swirl, but that's overkill.

  • Garnish with chives, or a small piece of pickle for extra flavor.

Serving and Storing Deviled Eggs

  • Arrange deviled eggs on a platter just before serving.

  • Keep these puppies chilled on ice or in the refrigerator until ready to eat.

  • Arrange deviled eggs on a platter and send em out to pasture.
